Winery Cellar Manager
The parental cover Senior Winemaker will be responsible for proactively leading a quality-focused and high performing team.
The Winemaker oversees, manages and monitors all stages of the winemaking process ensuring a quality product is produced to agreed standards, quality, compliance and deadlines.
This role reports directly to our Head of Winemaking and Viticulture and works closely with the broader Spy team. We are looking for a talented winemaker who aligns to our company Core Values. Direct reports include Assistant and Technical Winemakers and Laboratory Technician.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership and Management
Responsible for the efficient, engaging, and motivational management of the Winemaking Team to achieve their goals.
Winemaking and Cellaring
An integral part of the winemaking team. The Cellar Manager will lead the cellar hands to produce high quality wines in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement the winery operations plan
- Ensure effective operation of the winery by maintaining clear communication, training and updating of SOP's
- Ensure compliance with WSMP
- Recruit train and manage vintage staff
- Coordinate maintenance of winery buildings, winery equipment, wastewater system and freshwater supply in conjunction with with winery maintenance person
- Member of HACCP committee
- Responsible for winery SWNZ compliance and audits
- Winery site Health and Safety coordinator
Bottling Line Assistant
Your Mission
We are looking for a part-time, team all-rounder with a 'can-do' and collaborative attitude to become part of our Spy family. Full training will be provided for the right person, so don't let a lack of experience prevent you from applying.
You will be assisting bottling and packaging operations.
