Vineyard Manager
We are looking for a Vineyard Manager to help our team grow and manage premium vineyards across Marlborough.
Spy Valley is a family-owned winery that has been inspiring the world of wine since 2000. We have a reputation for outstanding wines, and a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and fun.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Vineyard Management:
Responsible for the overall effective planning and management of vineyards:
- Ensure best practice, efficiency, and effectiveness of the following vineyard management practices:
- Winter pruning
- Agrichemical application
- Pest and disease control
- Irrigation management
- Frost Protection
- Grape yield
- Soil management
- Frost control
- Vine nutrition
- Canopy management
- Grape harvesting.
- Weekly planning and management of vineyard staff.
- Supervision of Contract Labour and casual labour
- Health and Safety rep for all Vineyard staff and sites
- Compliance of WSMP, SWNZ and other accreditations.
In Conjunction with the Head of Viticulture and Winemaking responsible for:
- Pest and Disease monitoring
- Grapevine phenological data
- Crop Estimation
- Harvest sampling
- Trial data collection and analysis
- Analysis of Soil Moisture data and Irrigation program
- Research latest techniques and viticultural applications
- Support grower liaison activities
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- A Full Driver’s licence
- An awareness of Health and Safety
- A tertiary level qualification in Viticulture or Oenology.
- Minimum 3 years experience in the Viticulture industry.
