We are looking for a Vineyard Manager to help our team grow and manage premium vineyards across Marlborough.

Spy Valley is a family-owned winery that has been inspiring the world of wine since 2000.  We have a reputation for outstanding wines, and a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and fun.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Vineyard Management:

Responsible for the overall effective planning and management of vineyards:

• Ensure best practice, efficiency, and effectiveness of the following vineyard management practices:
• Winter pruning
• Agrichemical application
• Pest and disease control
• Irrigation management
• Frost Protection
• Grape yield 
• Soil management
• Frost control
• Vine nutrition
• Canopy management
• Grape harvesting.
• Weekly planning and management of vineyard staff.
• Supervision of Contract Labour and casual labour
• Health and Safety rep for all Vineyard staff and sites
• Compliance of WSMP, SWNZ and other accreditations.

In Conjunction with the Head of Viticulture and Winemaking responsible for:

• Pest and Disease monitoring
• Grapevine phenological data
• Crop Estimation
• Harvest sampling
• Trial data collection and analysis
• Analysis of Soil Moisture data and Irrigation program
• Research latest techniques and viticultural applications
• Support grower liaison activities 

We would love to hear from you if you have:

•  A Full Driver’s licence
• An awareness of Health and Safety 
• A tertiary level qualification in Viticulture or Oenology.
• Minimum 3 years experience in the Viticulture industry.
