The Spy Valley ENVOY Outpost Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014 has received Gold and 95 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards in the UK.
Decanter is the largest and most influential global wine competition with over 250 of the world's most renowned wine experts. Sixty five Masters of Wine and 20 Master Sommeliers blind taste more than 17,000 wines over five days of judging. Wines are tasted within their region of origin and price bracket to ensure like-for-like comparison.
Gold medals are awarded to wines which score 95-100 points and are described as an excellent wine of great complexity and character.
Judges comments: "Bouquet speaks of minerality and fruit concentration as well as oak with brown spices and toasty wood tones. Fresh crunchy fruit on the palate with fresh acidity and subtle oaky hints. Lovely complexity for such a young wine. Superb."
The Spy Valley Gewurztraminer 2015 and the Spy Valley Riesling 2015 were both also awarded a Silver medal at the Awards.
